The TigerMai, with its Raindrop pattern : a concentrate of expertise!
This is one of the latest designs proposed by the American company Baker Forge & Tools !
Discover TigerMai, Raindrop pattern, a breathtaking grade of damascus carbon steel, a skilful blend of aesthetics and technique.
Dress your blades in a sumptuous pattern, reminiscent of the fur of large fawns, with golden and orange hues highlighted by a deep black cutting edge after etching.
The TigerMai from every angle.
The TigerMai is further proof of Baker Forge & Tools' extensive forging expertise.
On a 80Crv2 carbon steel core, American blacksmiths came to apply Damascus flanks to it, mixing 15N20, bronze, 1084 (similar to the XC75) and copper.
The result speaks for itself: a "water droplet" pattern that is highly prized by cutlers, whose bronze and copper tones are further enhanced by the addition of 15N20 for the lighter parts and 1084 for the darker parts. In a few words: a unique pattern!
The TigerMai - Raindrop is one of the new products from Baker Forge & Tools that we are very proud to be able to offer you, as their creations are very rare in Europe.
A top-of-the-range Damascus steel, cut on demand.
We offer TigerMai - Raindrop in two distinct formats, particularly suited to knifemaking applications:
- 30 x 3 mm sections, for small blades (pocket knives or folding knives, for example);
- 60 x 3 mm sections, for larger projects (hunting knives, bushcraft or kitchen knives).
Naturally, TigerMai - Raindrop bars are delivered annealed and ground. And as usual, they're sold by the centimetre: just order the length you need, and we'll take care of the rest!

There had to be a special solution for such special alloys!
Always at the forefront of progress, Baker Forge & Tools has developed the Gator Piss, a revolutionary solution for etching carbon damascus with copper inclusions.
The Gator Piss allows carbon steels to be darkened considerably, while retaining the brightness of nickel steels without ever damaging the non-ferrous metals used in the composition of their Damascus steels.
To get the best results from your TigerMai - Raindrop, we strongly recommend that you use the Gator Piss.
Who's behind Baker Forge & Tools?
Quite simply, among the best Damascus blacksmiths in the world.
Located in Zionville, between North Carolina and Tennessee, the Baker Forge workshops were born of the passion of Coy Baker, a young blacksmith as creative as he was talented.
He and his teams specialise in the manufacture of 'classic' Damascus steels, but also and above all 'special' Damascus steels, incorporating bronze, nickel, copper and other non-ferrous metals assembled using a forge-melting technique developed entirely by Coy Baker.
Combining technique and aesthetics, the Damascus steels offered by Baker Forge & Tools are very rare in Europe. You'll understand why we're so proud to count them among our distributors!
