A new addition to our Damascus carbon steels: GoMai CuShim - Chevron.

Designed and forged in the American workshops of Baker Forge & Tool, the GoMai CuShim, Chevron pattern, will quickly prove to be a must-have for anyone who loves exceptional Damascus steels.

Made from high-quality carbon steels, Baker Forge damascus blades will prove formidable in terms of both cutting quality and hardness - not to mention their unique aesthetics.

The latest addition to the Baker Forge Damascus range is the GoMai CuShim, further proof of the boundless creativity of Coy Baker and his teams.

A unique and precious Damascus sandwich steel.

The GoMai CuShim is a little jewel of inventiveness. It is made up of :

- A central core of 80Crv2 carbon steel, guaranteeing a formidable cutting edge and high resistance to wear;

- Blanks made from 100-layer Damascus 15N20 and 1084 (similar to our XC75 steel);

- And a thin sheet of copper separating the two layers.

The result? The images speak for themselves: a deep black cutting edge, complex sides, sharply defined by the warm tones of the copper.

There's no doubt that this new Baker Forge Damascus pattern will find its place on the blades of cutlers who want to combine technique and aesthetics.

A singular etching process.

Unique Damascus steels deserve a unique method of etching. Or rather... A unique developing medium: Gator Piss.

Behind this poetic name lies a truly revolutionary etcher for Damascus carbon steels, developed by Coy Baker and his team.

A skilful blend of different acids, Gator Piss enables spectacular blackening of carbon-rich steel grades, while retaining the brilliance of 15N20 without ever eating into non-ferrous metals.

So, to get the best out of GoMai CuShim - Chevron, we strongly recommend that you use Gator Piss to etch it.

Formats designed for knifemakers.

We offer GoMai CuShim - Chevron in two distinct formats designed for cutlery:

- 30 x 3 mm sections, suitable for making blades for small fixed or folding knives;

- 60 x 3 mm bars, more suitable for large-scale projects such as hunting or kitchen knife blades.

GoMai CuShim bars are delivered annealed and ground. Sold by the centimetre, we cut the sections of your choice to order.

The story begins with Coy Baker, a talented young blacksmith.

Baker Forge & Tool is first and foremost the story of its founder, Coy Baker.

Since 2016, the American company has specialised in the design and forging of "classic" damascus steels... But above all 'special' damascus, including bronze, copper and other non-ferrous metals.

These unique designs were made possible by the development of a technique for fusion-welding copper onto carbon steel, enabling assemblies that are far more resistant than conventional welding methods.

Very rare on the European market, we are very proud to include Baker Forge damascus in our range.
