The tool steel Z38CDV5 (Bohler W300) is an ideal grade for the manufacture of hot-work punches or tools. Indeed, Z38CDV5, like most hot work steels, shines by its properties:

How to heat treat Z38CDV5 / Bohler W300 tool steel?

Z38CDV5 tool steel can be quenched between 1000 and 1040°C, for 15 to 30 minutes depending on the desired hardness. For best results, tempering should be conducted immediately after quenching, the temperature depending on the hardness you wish to obtain.
